Per EPA standards, the radon mitigation fan must be within 6ft of an electrical outlet, so by coming up through the garage, there is usually outlets that our technicians can work with. This saves the homeowner from having to have a master electrician come in which can add a couple hundred dollars to the price. Aesthetics: With a garage style radon mitigation system, the pipe doesn’t have to run all the way up the outside of the house, so the only part of the radon mitigation system you will be able to see from the outside of the home is a small vent stack on the backside of the home similar to a bathroom exhaust fan pipe.
