Lakeside Park
Lakeside Park in Fond Du Lac has developed into one of Wisconsin's finest public parks with many features. It is situated along Lake Winnebago and contains several beaches, playgrounds, ball fields, tennis courts, bicycle paths and many picnic areas.
History of the Park:
In 1895, the city of Fond du Lac purchased about 140 acres of land to make Lakeside Park. The park plans specified that all walks in the park should lead to an ornate artesian fountain. John Boyle donated a pavilion and bridge before 1900 when Bathing facilities were built, followed by 1906's lighthouse construction then finally 1933 saw a bandstand being constructed.
Things To Do At Lakeside Park:
Lakefront Beach: Enjoy a swim at Lakefront beach on Lake Winnebago in Fond Du Lac Wisconsin. The lakefront has shallow waters for young children to play safely. There are also volleyball nets set up so you can play with friends or make new ones!
Walking Paths: One can enjoy walking around the park and enjoying the scenery or just take a "walk on the beach" and enjoy your time relaxing on Lake Winnebago.
Bike Paths: With many bike paths around Lakeside park you can have fun riding bikes, skateboards or rollerblades enjoying the beautiful scenery of Fond Du Lac Wisconsin.
Picnic Areas & BBQ Grills: You can pack up your food for the day and have a picnic or barbecue with family or friends. We recommend you bring your own grill and utensils because it is not allowed to bring in propane grills to this park.
Splash Pad: In addition to lake access, Lakeside Park also offers another fun option to enjoy the water. With a full splash pad, the kiddos can enjoy the water in a safer environment.
