Harley-Davidson Museum
The Harley-Davidson® Museum is located at 400 W. Canal Street, Milwaukee, WI 53233 on the banks of the Menomonee River in Wisconsin's third largest city, just five miles from American Family Field (home of the world famous Milwaukee Brewers) and seven miles from downtown Milwaukee. A new 50,000 square foot Harley-Davidson Museum Exhibit Hall opened to visitors in 2007 that showcases Harley-Davidson's premium motorcycles and historic artifacts throughout its 16 exhibit halls plus an outdoor exhibit area.
The Harley-Davidson Museum houses over 400 vintage and historic motorcycles, as well as hundreds of exhibits that feature Harley-Davidson's history from 1903 to present day. The Museum Store offers adult and children's T-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts, ball caps, hats and more -- all featuring the famous Harley-Davidson logo! For dining there is Harley-Davidson Cafe Racer and Harley-Davidson Motor Company Restaurant. Harley-Davidson Café Racer is a casual dining restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with the only Harley-Davidson manufactured motorcycle on display inside of the restaurant. Harley-Davidson Motor Company Restaurant features an open exhibit area where visitors can view production of Harley's big twin engines while eating delicious food right off of Harley-Davidson menus.
Harley-Davidson was founded in 1903 in Milwaukee, WI and officially incorporated in 1907. Harley-Davidson's Harley-Davidson motorcycle was the first production motorcycle sold in America, and Harley has been making motorcycles that set the standard for performance and style ever since. Harley-Davidson is also famous for developing the Harley-Davidson WLA Engine, which powered American forces through World War II and saw service around the world until 1949. Today Harley continues to be a leading manufacturer of heavyweight motorcycles with about one third of all large displacement motorcycles built in the world being Harley-Davidsons. Harley-Davidson culture has become an integral part of Americana.
If you're visiting Milwaukee we definitely recommend stopping here.
